Discover Your Mission was established by Cameron and Marvel Wilson more than 20 years ago. In Romania brother Cameron was named as Mr. Mission, because he helped arose the large Pentecostal movement to take part in the Great Commission. One of the churches they pastored received national recognition for highest world missions giving of any congregation in their fellowship. From 1960 through 1971 Cameron conducted many eight-hour radiothons for missions on Christian stations in North America.
In 1993 Cameron completed a Master’s degree in Christian Missions, and responded to a challenge from Dr. Iosif Ton to launch a new pastoral training ministry among Pentecostals of Romania. Known as “Pastorii ai Romaniei,” Cameron and Marvel built a nationwide teaching circuit of pastoral study classes. More than 1,600 Romanian church leaders have graduated from these in-depth studies.
In addition, the Wilsons raised finances to help build a total of 39 churches. Twenty-three of these are “Evangelistic Social Centers” within Gypsy or Turkish ghettos across Romania. Cameron has been teaching principles of Christian Missions in Romania’s colleges, and has encouraged an annual Romanian Missionary Convention (RoMisCon) each year for more than a decade. These efforts have combined to help generate a growing family of full time overseas missionaries.
Cameron wrote a mission statement, “Am Un Vis,” which casts the vision of a Romanian-born missionary family on every continent, supported adequately by thousands of Romanian “Faith Promise Partners”. This dream is currently taking place. We can see the strong faith that he had on the Romanian missionary from his words: “In that day when we stand before Christ, I believe that multitudes of tribal people will rejoice that it was our Romanian missionaries who led them into faith, salvation, and eternal life”.
Cameron also planned a succession plan. At over 80 years old Cameron had passed the leadership of DYM to a generation of Romanian mission minded pastors who are very active in world missions, while he remained available to Romanian churches and continued to counsel the new Board. Starting from March 2011 the DYM organization had been led by the new board of Romanian pastors.
On January 31, 2015 “Mr. Missions” – Cameron Wilson – heard the voice from heaven “Come home, you good and faithful servant” and he was promoted to glory. Until his last breath he was Mr. Mission. Now he is with the Lord!
